High mountains are a bleak habitat for animal life. Food is scarce and the climate is very cold. Mammals living here have adapted to survive the bitter cold and most have thick woolly fur. Mountains sheep and goats like the chamois and ibex r very sure -footed to help them climb the jagged.

animals have certain adaptive elements that allow them to adapt to the different environments .the environments may include mountain environment or aquatic environment or polar environment or desert environment .different environment have different features

mountains environments are high altitude areas which in most cases are cold with big rocks and thick vegetation at some point .the terrain in the highlands is very high hence an animal must survive in this area .

such animals have claws to help them move on the steep slops ,they have fur to prevent the coldness
