Intellectual property rights are the rights of the individual to protect his or her own idea from getting copied.

There are 4 methods that come under intellectual property rights which are -

  1. Trade secrets- These are the ways through which one can protect the secret information related to his idea.
  2. Trademarks - they protect the brand as they symbolise a product which is made originally from a particular brand.
  3. copyrights - these are used to keep the written work of any author under his name.
  4. Patents - they protect the functional or ornamental features of any idea.
