What are the different forms of power sharing in modern democracies with examples?

Modern democracy comprises of vertical form division and horizontal form division. The best one is horizontal form of Government because it comprises of Judiciary, executive and legislature and they can cross check each other that means that none of them is having more power or none of them can overpower one another.
