There are various type of ways of power sharing in modern democracies

Vertical power sharing - it is type of power sharing between different levels of 

government . But the higher government have much role then lower governments.

Horizontal power sharing - it is type of power sharing when the power shared by government equally in all tiars . The three compartment of this government are legislature , judiciary and executive . 

Sharing between social groups  -  Different social groups have different needs , But they can share the work in between . In the social groups all decides what is good for all .

Sharing between political parties - The different political parties rule the country and know how the country will run . Different parties have different moto and thinking so that all over development can happen .
