◆ Commonly used methods -
(a) Intrauterine contracepetive devices -
- IUCDs (CuT, mirena) make uterus unsuitable for implantation of blastocyst.
- They are to be inserted in female vagina by a simple OPD procedure.
(b) Condoms -
- Condoms are barrier method of contraception and act by preventing deposition of sperms in female vagina.
- They are to be worn over male penis.
(c) Vasectomy/Tubectomy -
- These are permanent methods of contraception.
- In males vas deferens is cut while fallopian tube is cut in females which stops transport of gamets.
