There are two types of fold mountains: young fold mountains (10 to 25 million years of age, e.g. Rockies and Himalayas) and old fold mountains (over 200 million years of age, e.g. Urals and Appalachians of the USA).

Answer:there are two types of fold mountains. old fold mountains and young fold mountains.

Explanation:old fold mountains are those which have been formed millions and millions year ago and have been eroded by the agents of erosion in a very large scale.they have gentle slops and rounded peaks and are generally shorter in height than the new fold mountains.

eg.- aravallis

new fold mountains are those which are of a relatively recant origin and have not undergone the large -scale effects of erosion. the r the tallest mountains and have steep slops and sharp or pointed peaks.

eg.- himalayas
