There are 4 types of forces as classified by experiment and observation in nature.

• Gravitational, attractive force caused due to masses
• Electrostatic, charges like masses is a property of matter as matter is formed of electrons , protons, neutrons and as per definition of +/- charge, Charges (like/unlike)- repel/attract each other. All contact forces and electrical forces are caused due to this. Eg, FrictionContact force between 2 bodies that occur due to physical contact and acts along surface of contact), Force due to field.Normal force(That occur due to physical contact between two bodies and perpendicular to surface of contact), Tension in a string, Spring forces ( The electrostatic forces in the body in contact with other body result in upward force, in spring and string act away from body attached.
• Nuclear ,act between neutrons and protons
• Weak , Occur for a short time in certain processes like conversion conversion of neutron into proton and anti neutrino(other subatomic particles),etc.
