There are two different types of tissues present in plant are :

1 Meristematic tissue : it forms a group of continuously dividing cells which help in growth of the plant. They are of three types : apical meristem, lntercalary meristem and lateral meristem .

2. Permanent tissue : when the cells of meristematic tissues have lost their ability to divide they gradually become differentiated to perform specialised function. These cells acquire a permanent shape and size. Such tissues are called permanent tissue.

They are of three types : simple tissue, complex tissue , and special tissue.

The different types of tissue present in plants are as follows:

1. Meristematic Tissues

  • The cells in this tissue multiply by cell division and support the plant in growing. With time, these cells stop dividing further and become permanent.

2. Permanent Tissues

  • The cells in this tissue cannot multiply but they provide flexibility, structure, and strength to a plant.

3. Protective Tissues

  • These tissues provide essential nutrients to the plant and also protect the internal elements.
