Hey there,

μ or coefficient of friction multiplied by the normal reaction is equal to the frictional force.
[f=μR]

Hence we can conclude that,
μ=f/R

Since f and R ie friction and normal reaction are forces hence their units are same.

We know that the ratio of two vectors having same unit is dimensionless.

Hence we can conclude that coefficient of friction or μ is dimensionless.
