What are the disadvantages/advantages of starting a revolution Ex: french revolution, american revolution?

advantages: no oppression, freedom, help poor, set up government how you want.

disadvantages: lot of killing and people dying, pay money to fix all the things destroyed during revolution, country is weak afterwards and easy to be invaded by other countries.
