what are the disadvantages of concave and convex mirror
Answers
Convex mirrors make objects seem to appear smaller than they are in reality, which allows for a wider viewpoint in a smaller space.
Convex mirrors reflect images in a distorted shape due to their convex shape. It can be difficult to determine the actual placement of objects.
Concave Mirror-
The main disadvantage is it forms real and inverted images except when the object is kept in between P and F.
Concave mirror has lesser field view so cannot be used as security mirrors or rear view mirrors
Based on object position, it forms either magnified or diminished image.
Convex and concave mirrors are widely used in different optical devices in order to magnify or reverse-magnify the objects in real time.
But there are many disadvantages of this mirrors.
Such as;
1) Some amount of light is directly absorbed by these mirrors which mean not 100% of emitted light ray are reflected by these mirrors.
2) If we don't put the object in necessary point infront of these mirrors then the magnification or reverse magnification may not work properly. (Precision is necessary)
3) The reflection capabilities of these mirrors decrease over the time due to molecular level degradation on the mirror surface.
And many more.
