urning of fossil fuels produce gaseswhich cause global warming like carbon dioxide.
Burning of coal and petroleum cause air pollution due to the pollutants produced.
Fossil fuels release oxides of carbon, sulphur and nitrogen etc. They cause acid rains, which affect the soil fertility and potable water.
