The disturbing features of land use pattern in India are:

1. There is an imbalance between the growing population and the decrease of forests in the country. The amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is increasing. There is an increase in temperature. Due to which there is a risk of the snow caps being melted and flooding the low lying thickly populated areas.

2. The forest cover of a country should be 33.3% of the total land area. But in India it is only 19.3%. It is decreasing further due to the population pressure for residential and other activities like agriculture, industries, trade and commerce. There is an imbalance in our natural eco - system due to the low percentage of forest land.
