1-The Chief Minister is the leader of the State Legislature Assembly. All principal announcements of policy are made by him.

2-The sessions of house are summoned and prorogued by the Governor on the advice of the Chief Minister.

3-He is a link between the Council of Ministers and the Governor. He communicates to Governor about all the decisions of the Council of Ministers.

4-Assigning of departments or portfolios to the ministers is done by the Governor on the advice of Chief Minister.

5&Chief Minister may ask any of his colleague ministers to resign.

6-Chief Minister presides over the meeting of his cabinet as chairman.

7-He coordinates the working of different departments.
