1-a provisional government under prime minister krenskii was formed

2-the bolshevik leader vladmir lenin returned to russia from his exile in april .lenin put up three demands [lenins'april theses] before the government

they were; a:the war be bought to a lose b:land be transfored to the peasants c: banks and indrusries and other economic sectors should be nationalised

3-trade union and other soldier's commities were formed.

4-the provisional govt powers were reduced and the bolshievik influence increased

5-the workers movement spread in all the factories and indrustries of russia

Petrograd revolution is also known as the February revolution. It had occured in the Petrograd city which was the capital of the then Russia . It had a drastic effects on the society . Some of them are :

  • Removal of monarchy : The Tsar had fled away when people's protests were at its peak against him.

  • Beggining of new government : After the abdication of Tsar Nicholas II ; Russians decided to have a constituent assembly . The leaders would be chosen on the basis of their capabilities and through universal adult suffrage. This government came to be known as : Provincial Government. It was formed and controlled by the Soviet and the Duma members.

  • Restrictions on public meetings and associations was removed.

  • Many Soviets like The Petrograd Soviet where found everywhere but common system of election was not followed.

  • One of the greatest leaders of Russia came into force : Vladimir Lenin. He formed the Bolshevik party and continued an amazing work until his death.

  • The most important effect on Russia was Abolition of Monarchy in 1917.
