Before the revolution by the Vietnam army, Vietnam was controlled by France for many years. This colonial movement caused outrage and caused the Vietnamese to rise up against the French. The French established control by economic, political, and military force.

2) Vietnam became the third largest producer of rice as various steps were taken in the advancement of the production of rice .

3) A trans Indo China rail network was constructed linking Vietnam and China.

4) In rural areas landlordism spread and the standard of living of people declined.

5) A feeling of nationalism amongst Indo Chinese people developed.
