EFFECT OF LIGHT ON PHOTOSYNTHESIS : Chlorophyll traps the solar energy of particular wavelengths of the visible light . it absorbs blue, violet and red wavelengths more intensely whereas green wavelengths is weakly absorbed. Hence, the chloroplast appear green in colour. Chlorophyll is highly sensitive to light and can destroy it.

Answer:
Without enough light, a plant cannot photosynthesise very quickly - even if there is plenty of water and carbon dioxide and a suitable temperature. Increasing the light intensity increases the rate of photosynthesis, until some other factor - a limiting factor - becomes in short supply.
