What are the effects of mission kakatiya
Answers
Mission Kakatiya is a program started in December 2015 by the Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrashekar Rao, for restoring the tanks and lakes in the Telangana state.
The name “Mission Kakatiya” was given as a tribute to the Kakatiya rulers who developed many irrigation tanks in the area.
As a part of this program, more than 45,000 tanks and lakes were identified by the government, which are being planned to be restored over the next 5 years at a cost of Rs. 2,00,000 crores.
By restoring these tanks and lakes, it is possible that almost 250-270 TMC of water will be available for irrigation, agriculture, livestock, and for drinking-water purposes. The program also ensures food security, cultural and environmental protection, and for encompassing livelihood.
