the spirit of unrest and defiance of authority generated by the non - cooperation movement , contribute to the rise of many local movement , which didn't adopt the policy of noncooperation or even the idea of non - violence
the tribals and peasants believed that swaraj would come and with it all their suffering would come to an end . yet when they took the name of gandhiji and raised slogans demanding independent India , they were voicing the feelings of millions of Indians . their identification with the congress , made their movements go beyond their local limits .
