The population of Earth is increasing everyday up to one million, and the demand of energy is also increasing, scientists are still researching to find an ideal and less polluted source of energy but for now the main sources of energy are mainly mineral oils, nuclear energy, hydroelectricity, etc.

Mainly mineral oils are used for production of energy all over the world, the effects of over use of mineral oil on environment are as follows-

I. Mineral oil is an exhaustible and irreversible resource and is running out if the earth very quickly.

II. Burning of mineral oil cause air pollution.

III. Burning of mineral oil is causing the increase of CO2 emmision, and this is leading to global warming, increase in Sea water level, change in weather, depletion of ozone layer, etc.

IV. Burning of mineral oil leads to increase in acid rain.

V. Disasters during extraction of mineral oil and oil spills lead to great loss of life and property.

VI. At hydroelectric power plants a large natural area gets depleted, decrease in the number of fishes, etc.

We can reduce energy consumption by many ways-

1. Using solar cookers and solar water heaters instead of using electricity and LPG for this purpose.

2. Switching off fans and lights when not in use.

3. Switching off ACs and heaters when not in use.

4. Using laptops instead of computers can also save energy.

5. Using LED bulbs instead of incandescent and fluorescent bulbs can also save energy.

I hope this will be sufficient to help you.

Well now we are 7.5 billion currently on the world. We need a lot of energy to run all sorts of machines and vehicles. Energy is of two types 'nonrenewable'  and 'renewable', the nonrenewable energy is the type of energy that once used will be over and creating this type of energy takes place naturally and over million and billions of years like the fossil fuels. The renewable sources can be used again and again like solar energy.

The Energy consumption is growing day by day and the fossil fuels are getting depleted because of continuous usage, we use fossil fuels like coal to generate electricity and petroleum to run our vehicles. We've been using the fossil fuels continuously for the past 6-7 decades. They are almost in depleting stage.

The environmental consequences of increasing demand of energy are the first thing is we are going on digging the fossil fuels for our need and even the pollution rate is increasing because we are burning the fossil fuels for generating energy.

While we are extracting the fuel from the sea or transporting it if the oil will spill it is a damage to the aquatic ecosystem, there will be water pollution etc.

When the mining work for coal etc. fossil fuels is going on we need see that we don't do any damage to the forest cover because most of the fossil fuels are found there and we cut down the trees which is harmful.

Steps I would suggest to reduce energy consumption are -

1. To search alternative sources instead of using the fossil fuels, alternatives like solar energy, tidal energy

2. Stop using the vehicles to go to near by places also.

3. Use public transport or car pools to save petroleum

4. Do not use the electricity when not needed

5. Use energy saving gadgets/ machines

6. Switch off the fans and lights when not in use.
