Enzyme :

The substances that act as catalysts in living organisms is called as enzymes.

➨ Enzymes are the bio-catalysts.

➨ They create the chemical reactions in the body.

➨ They helps in the break down of food particles during digestion.

➨ They are made up from chain amino acids chemically bonded to each other.

➨ Maximum number of enzymes are proteins.

➨ Enzymes are found in all tissue of the body.

➨ Example : Lipases, amylase, lactase etc.

Answer :-

According to the type of reactions that the enzymes catalyze, enzymes are classified into seven categories, which are oxidoreductases, transferases, hydrolases, lyases, isomerases, ligases, and translocases. Oxidoreductases, transferases and hydrolases are the most abundant forms of enzymes.
