The monuments and buildings of Delhi Sultanate were built across 320 years by Khalji, Lodi, Sayyid, Tughlaq and Slave dynasties.
The Hindu-Muslim architecture introduced during this time used more geometrical shapes, inscriptions and caligraphy.
However, the architecture still remained influenced by Hindu architecture.
In addition to the square-plan mausoleums, octagonal plans were also used like the tomb in the Lodi Garden.
