Tropical Evergreen forest-
1)generally are found at western ghats and the island groups of lakshadweep,andaman and nicobar, upper parts of assam,and tamil nadu coast.
2)they are at their best in areas having more than 200 cm of rainfall with a short dry season.
3)the trees reach great heights upto 60cm.
4)the region is warm and wet throughout the year.
5)imprtant trees are ebony,mahogany,rosewwod,rubberand cinchona.
Tropical Decidous forests
1)recieves rainfall b/w 200 and 100 cm
2) are generally found at the foothils of himalayas,jharkhand,west orrisa,chattisgarh.
3) important trees are bamboos,sal,shisham,sandalwood, khair,kusum,arjun,mulberry.
Thorn forests
1)rainfall is less than 70cm
2)are generally found inthe western parts of the country including semi arid  areas of gujrat, rajasthan,madhya pradesh ,UP and haryana.
3)acacias,palms,euphorbias and catci are the main plant species.
Montane forests
1)thewet temperate type of forests are found b/w a height 1000 and 2000 mts.evergreen broad-leaf trees such as oaks and chestnuts predominate.
2) b/w 1500 and 3000 mts,temperate forests containing coniferous trees like pine,deodar,silver fir,spurce and cedar are found. these forests cover mostly teh southern slopes of the himalayas.
3) at higher elevations ,temperate grassland are common. at high altitudes,generally morethan 3600 mts,above sea-level,temperate forests and grassland give way to the alpine vegetations.
Mangrove
1) the mangrove tidal forests are found in the areas of coasts influenced by tides.
2)dense of the plants submerged under water.
3)the deltas of the ganga,the mahanadi,the krishana,teh kaveri,are covered by such vegetation.
4)in the ganga-brahmaputra delta,sundari trees are found , which provide durable hard timber.
5)palm,coconut.keora,agar,also grow in some parts of the delta.
