Answer:

Explanation:

There are 2 categories of plant hormones;

  • Growth inhibitors
  • Growth promoters

Growth promoters:

Growth promoters include;

  1. Auxins
  2. Cytokinins
  3. Gibberellins

The most important hormone among these is Auxins which promote leaf and fruit growth,induce parthenocarpy,retards abscission,etc.

Cytokinins play important role in opening of stomatal pores in plants.

Growth Inhibitors:

Growth inhibitors include;

  1. Abscisic acid
  2. Ethene

Both of these hormones are important for plants in physiological drought season i.e., drought,flood etc

Most important role of abscisic acid is closing of stomata when temperature is very high.

Ethene induces fruit ripening in tomato and pineapple.

In short,Plant hormones are very necessary for their normal growth.

without them, plants may wilt or even die.

Plant growth regulators function as chemical messengers for intercellular communication . There are currently five recognized groups of plant hormones: auxins, gibberellins, cytokinins, abscisic acid (ABA) and ethylene. They work together coordinating the growth and development of cells.
