olfactory lobe. olfactory lobe Either member of a pair of lobes in the forebrain, at the anterior end of the cerebrum. They contain the endings of the olfactory nerves (the first pair of cranial nerves) and are concerned with the sense of smell, being prominent in the dogfish and other animals that depend on this senses.
