Hey there!

____________________________________________
The different functions of DNA are as follows :

¤ DNA Carries all the hereditary information coded in the arrangement of its nitrogen bases.

¤ It can replicate and pass the genetic information from one cell to its daughter cells.

¤ Crossing over produces recombinations.

¤ A change in sequence and number of nucleotides (mutations) is the basis of all variations and formation of new species..

¤ Through transpiration it forms RNAs.

¤ DNA indirectly controls the metabolism of cells through RNAs and RNA - direct synthesis of proteins, enzymes and other biochemicals.

¤ Dedifferentiation of various body parts is due to the differential functioning of specific parts of DNA.

The main role of DNA is the cell is the long term storage of information ,it is often compared to a blueprint, since it contain the instructions to construct other components of the cell such as protein and RNA molecules.
