What are the hydrolysis products of (i) sucrose and (ii) lactose?

lactose gives galactose + glucose

sucrose gives glucose + Fructose

The hydrolysis process of the lactose and sucrose are going to be,


For the hydrolysis process, the sucrose will give out a single molecule that will be of the alpha – D Glucose and another will be of the Beta – D fructose.


However, when we will go for the hydrolysis of the lactose then we will get the Beta – D galactose and Beta – D Glucose.
