Even though a virus can be theimmediate cause of a disease, other associated causes might allow the entry of the virus into the body. These causes are known as contributory causes. Like Unhealthy condition: Infectious agents like virus and bacteria enter the body through contaminated food or water.

Depends on the disease, obviously (or it should be obvious). Each has its own cause, cure, and prevention. There is no possible one way to cure or treat all diseases.
Infectious diseases are caused by infectious agents: bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoans, helminths, parasites, etc. (Ex: the cold, athlete’s foot, AIDS, malaria, head lice). You prevent these by not being infected or by getting vaccinated against them. Cures and treatments vary.
Genetic diseases are caused by a genetic mutations (ex: Downs syndrome, Wilson’s disease). You are born with these. We don’t have cures yet.
Congenital diseases are caused by a problem in the womb during development (ex: spina bifuda, fetal alcohol syndrome). Some can be prevented by actions of the mother.
Malnutrition is caused by not eating enough of something (ex: scurvy). The cure is obviously eating.
