Explanation:
Often social traditions and customs are the unspoken rules that shape the culture of a land or region, these are often learnt rather than enforced. In fact written law does not guarantee the character of a group of people, and adopting successful laws from other successful countries does not always translate to the same outcomes where there are divergent social traditions and customs in the area adopting the law. Unfortunately, fears around sensitivity and offence means that it is difficult to openly discuss national/ regional characteristics and how it might be better to emulated those belonging to more successful groups of people. There is much to learn from one another and countries/ regions can still retain their national identity whilst apopting other customs and characteristics of other areas. The key difficulty is trying to have some objectivity around a vision for a successful future. How does that translate and what is our collective aim for mankind. Ultimately, this key philosophical questions becomes stifled by short term individual aims for wealth, glory or power. Most people are not to blame as they are stuck in the system which forces self preservation, but the most successful/ powerful people in any given society should also adopt a moral responsibility to always keep asking the question of where we are journeying, outside of having an emense drive and addiction to simply acrewed wealth and power (which is limited to our mortal coils). That is not to say that systems of natural competition are inherently immoral, or broken but there is more that can be done to improve more people's lives, especially those who deserve more collective gratitude/ recompense for their services to mankind.
