Nutrition based : a person living in the rural area must have a diet of
2400 calories where as the person living in urban are have deit of 2200
calorie.
Income based : the person must have an income of below Rs250 per day
The indicators of poverty can be classified into two categories, that is a.) Monetary measures b.) Non-monetary measures.
EXPLANATION:
Poverty is a condition in which people are not able to afford even the basic necessities. Poverty is indicated by two methods, the first one is the monetary basis in which it is seen whether the person has money or not, if they do not have any money or another asset then they are classified as poor. The other indicators are non-monetary in which there are other factors that show the condition of poor.
If the country has high hunger index rate or high rates of malnutrition, or it has high rate of infant mortality rate and maternal mortality rate, then it clearly indicates that the standard of living in the country is very poor as people have no proper access to food or healthcare and hence, it indicates on the condition of poverty.
