Solution:
Given 17y = -32x + 12
i) To find y -intercept , we must
take x = 0,
17y = (-32)×0 + 12
=> 17y = 12
=> y = 12/17
ii) To find x -intercept , we must
take y = 0,
17×0=(-32)x+12
=> 0 = -32x + 12
=> 32x = 12
=> x = 12/32
=> x = (4×3)/(4×8)
After cancellation,we get
=> x = 3/8
Therefore,
x-intercept (a) = 3/8
y-intercept (b) = 12/17
