SENTENCE

Sentence is a group of words that makes a complete sense. A sentence is said to have a complete sense if there is clearly mentioned about the action of subject. A group of words which don't make complete sense can't be called as a sentence.

KINDS OF SENTENCE

There are four types of sentence :-

  • Declarative sentence :- A sentence is called to be declarative if states something or declares something. This type of sentence can be called as Assertive sentences. Example :- Sun rises in the east.

  • Imperative sentence :- A sentence is called to be imperative if that sentence expresses command, request or desire. Example :- Go and bring me the cake.

  • Interrogative sentence:- A sentence is called to be an interrogative sentence if it asks any type of question. Example :- Can I read this book ?

  • Exclamatory sentence:- A sentence is called to be an exclamatory snetence if it expresses someone's strong feeling. Example :- How cold it is!
