⚡⚡LIMITATIONS OF FIRST LAW OF THERMODYNAMICS:-

1. ✓ IT DOES NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THE DIRECTION OF HEAT FLOW.

2.✓NO INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT PART OF IT WILL BE CONVERTED INTO WORK DONE.

⚡⚡ SECOND LAW OF THERMODYNAMICS:-

(1)✓ KELVIN PLANK'S LAW:-

⭐⭐it is impossible to make a heat engine which will convert hundred percent heat energy into work.

Example- heat engine

(2)ClAUSSIU'S LAW:-

⭐⭐it is not possible that it will go from law temperature body to high temperature body without any use of external work.

Example- Refrigerator and A.C

Hope it will help you...✌️✌️

Answer:

(i) 1st law does not indicate the direction in which the change can occur :

  • When a bullet strikes a target, KE of a bullet is converted into heat energy. But heat energy developed cannot be converted back into mechanical energy of the bullet.

(ii) 1st law gives no idea about the extent of change :

  • No heat engine can convert all heat energy received from source into mechanical energy.

(iii) 1st law gives no information about the source of heat :

  • i.e., whether it is a hot or a cold body.
