In mendeleevs periodic table there was an ambiguity regarding the sequence of elements having same whole number atomic mass

Ex: cobalt and nickel were same I.e 59 so there was an ambiguity regarding their sequence

2) as isotopes have the similar chemical propertiesbut different atomic masses it was difficult to place them in mendeleevs periodic table.
