actually if you will bring a magnetic needle near a current carrying conductor it will show deflection which employs presence of magnetic field what actually happens is that a current carrying conductor also possess a magnetic field that is called magnetic effects of current this was firstly proved by orested experiment

If current is flowing through a current carrying conductor , it will produce a magnetic force around it .it is called magnetic effects of electric current. when me take a magnetic needle near a current carrying conductor ,it will get deflected.
