The main characteristics of the meridians are:-
- The length of all meridians is the same.
- All the meridians meet at the pole.
- The distance between any two meridians decreases as we go away from the equator.
- East of the Prime Meridian upto 180°E is the Eastern hemisphere,west of the Prime Meridian upto 180°W is the western Hemisphere.
