The main features of window made do popular?

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say there are three primary reasons:

Firsts: Windows was early to the scene, and though it’s not the first GUI operating system, first internet aware OS, or first server platform, it was early enough to gain significant advantage on these fronts. In the 80s, Microsoft was one of the several competing primitive disk operating system vendors. Seeing UI as the future, MS managed to successfully leverage the DOS ecosystem and aggressive expansion to push the intuitive Windows UI, augmenting the early shell with web integration (active desktop) and a free web browser (IE), making it ahead of its time.Binary compatibility + Lower Developer Overhead: This point is often missed, but in my eyes is the most important. As Linux users are fond of pointing out, Unix-like systems have many of the same user facing features that are present in Windows OSes, such as a GUI, hardware acceleration, and a rich developer ecosystem. What most unix-like systems lack, however, is binary compatibility, a stable ABI (the ‘language’ with which programs and drivers talk to the operating system), and a single unfragmented API surface (common set of features + entry points
