There are multiple causes of budget deficit or fiscal deficit in India.
The first reason is that of tax non-compliance.
This creates a pressure on the government as it does it not have the adequate funds, and causes them to borrow more.
The multiple number of agricultural schemes cost a lot of money which is then lost in case the farmers do not have a profitable crop.
