1. The iron percentage in iron ore varies from 50 to 65 %. Hence India has one of the best iron ores in the world. The total iron ore capacity of India is around 7 % of the total iron deposits in the world.

2. Their are two types of ores found in India which are Magnetite and Hematite. These are considered as the best type of iron ores.

The major iron-ore producing states are Jharkhand, Odisha , Karnataka, Goa and Chhattisgarh.

The Mineral deposits in India are unevenly distributed because of the geographical differences of India and the process of formation of minerals.
