chicken brooders can be a device that broods chicken in that it creates a conducive environment for the hatching of eggs .5this machine is bought and it uses electricity to generat a conducive heat for the eggs  

a brooder may also mean the chicken itself ,the chicken may lay eggs then broods them by itself .in this case the hen lays on the eggs for some days ,the hen gives a conducive temperature by its wings .this leads to e hatching of the eggs

therefore the main source of heat for the artificial brooders is heat from electricity
