Jainism is one of the oldest religions in India. Jains are the followers of "Jina" which means conquerors. These title of Jina is given to 24 teachers called Tritankars who are the religious Guru of Jains. The first tritankar was Rishabhanatha and the last was Lord Mahavira.The are mainly two sects of Jainism, the Swetambar and the Digambara .
The following are the fundamental teachings of Jainism :
- Ahimsa ( Non Violence)
- Truthfulness
- Aparigraha ( No possession of things)
- The cycle of birth and rebirth is shaped through "Karma".
- Non stealing
