The major divisions in kingdom Plantae are Thallophyta, Bryophyta, Pteridophyta, Gymnosperms and Angiosperms. The following points constitute the basis of these divisions: (i) Presence or absence of distinct organdIes. (ii) Presence or absence of distinct and differentiated tissues, which can carry food and water.
