1.India has a large share in world trade of cotton yarn but it's trade in readymade textile is only 4% in world's total production.

Major drawbacks for the cotton textile industry:
- India is famous in all over the world for cotton.
- It is readymade garments which are only 4 percent of the world’s total trade.
- The problem with cotton textiles in India is weaving process, as well as knitting process units, is not high-quality yarn that is produced in our country.
- There is some modern factory in this segment but most of productions are in small unit. It caters to the local market.
- This is one of the major drawbacks of this industry.
- That is the reason Indian spinners export cotton and garment manufacture has to import fabric.
