1. it had made classification of chemical compounds easier than early periodic tables
2. the way in which elements are separated from one another in periodic table makes study of chemical compounds easier and one could easily tell the chemical and physical property of the compound by just looking at the period and group number of the element.
3. it had rectified the drawbacks of Mendeleev periodic table.

Demreits:-

1. hydrogen is placed in group 1 which is not hundred percent accurate place for it.
2. meaning of the lower compounds like unnoctium and xenon also form compounds even after being placed in noble gas group
