Indian society is well supported by the farmers. Our farmer are doing great job that is producing raw food grains for us to meet our surplus demand. For the cultivation various irrigation systems are used depend upon the geographical areas. But here I will categories on the basis available.
Tubewells/Wells : The major sources of irrigation in India. Tubewells / Wells are constructed to utilize ground water. In India the major source of water is through river and availability of water in rivers is only through Monsoon.
Canals : Canals are the second most used source of irrigation. Canals are needed to be supported by the governments. There is need of huge planing for the construction of Canals.
Tanks : Another way of irrigation in hilly areas is by construction of tanks and pounds. This way of irrigation has made the irrigation last longer even during the scarisity of water.
Others : this include irrigation through rain water or during raining season.
