The compound must have a planner cyclic structure.
it must have conjugated pi electrons
there must be the delocalization of these pi electrons in a molecule.
they must obey huckle rule.
it must have a chemical stability
all protons in it should be equivalent

Explanation:

The molecule should be planar.

the molecule should be cyclic with alternate single and double bond .

The molecule should contain (4n+2)π electron where n= 0,1,2,3,etc.(huckel rule).

a molecule which does not satisfy any one or more of the above mentioned condition is said to be non aromatic.
