Deforestation is the cutting down of trees in a wide area.

Deforestation has adverse effects on the environment.

The negative effects are as follows:

1) It leads to desertification

When all the trees are eliminated the land surface remains bare and since trees attract rainfall the area will experience minimal rainfall.

2) It leads to soil erosion

When trees are cut the surface is exposed to agents of soil erosion such as wind hence soil erosion increases.

3) Change in climate

Trees keep the air fresh and also attract rainfall. When trees are cut the rainfall decreases and the temperatures also rise . This can lead to global warming.

The correct answer is thus :

Climate change and desertification.
