Answer:

Most metals have many physical properties in common.

Metal Physical Properties:

Lustrous (shiny)

Good conductors of heat and electricity.

High melting point.

High density (heavy for their size)

Malleable (can be hammered)

Ductile (can be drawn into wires)

Usually solid at room temperature (an exception is mercury)

Opaque as a thin sheet (can't see through metals)

Physical properties of metals.

Explanation:

  • Metals are malleable i.e. all metals can be beaten into sheets with a hammer e.g. gold, silver, aluminium etc.
  • Metals are ductile, metals can be stretched into thin wires.
  • Metals are good conductors of heat and electricity, for example silver, copper.
  • They are lustrous and can be polished.
  • Metals are solid at room temperature
  • metals are strong and heavy  and have high melting and boiling points
  • Metals are sonorous i.e. they produce sound when hit with an object.
