Hi students!
In this poem, some of the poetic devices are;

Onomatoepia: sound verbs like I chatter, I chatter

Refrain: repetition of words like, may men come and may men go.

Personification: to give human qualities to non human things like, I chatter, I chatter that means the rapid flow of water.

Well, let me first talk define 'Figure of speech first

the figures of speech ;An expressive, non-literal use of language. Figures of speech include tropes (such as hyperbole, irony, metaphor, and simile) and schemes (anything involving the ordering and organizing of words—anaphora, antithesis, and chiasmus, for example). Browse all terms related to figures of speech.

personification is the figure of speech used in the poem “THE BROOK” by alfred lord tennyson.

refrain—”for men may come men may go ,but i go on forever.”

alliteration: “when a sound is repeated in a line eg: Half a Hundred”

onomatopoeia - "i bubble into eddying bays" "i babble on the pebbles"

rhyme scheme-”ab ab.”

This poem has a pretty regular rhyme scheme and rhythm. The rhyme scheme isabab, cdcd, efef, ghgh, etc., throughout the work. It is written in a regular rhythm of iambic feet (unaccented followed by accented syllables).

hope it helps
