ANSWER.......
☆☆ Similarities ☆☆
¤ Both Li and Mg are harder and lighter than other elements of their respective groups.
¤ Both are reacts slowly with water.
¤ The oxides of both do not form Superoxides i.e. Li2O and MgO do not form superoxides.
¤ The chlorides of both i.e. LiCl MgCl2 are soluble in ethanol.
¤ Both form crystals like LiCl.2H2O and
MgCl2.8H2O .

→Firstly , let's know what is a Diagonal Relationship ?
=> The similarities in the properties of elements present diagonally is called a Diagonal Relationship . For Example -
◼Lithium and magnesium
◼Boron and Silicon
◼Beryllium and Aluminium .
=> Similarities between Lithium and Magnesium are -
→Both lithium and magnesium are harder than the rest of the members of their respective groups .
→Both show least stability towards heat .
→Their reaction with water is quite slow.
→Also , both of these form mono oxides.
→Both are unable to form super oxides .
